Trap 4. Lost in Transition

I always thought I was going to be a lawyer. I had it all planned out—the color of my convertible Mercedes, the ring tone on my cell phone, and my entire professional wardrobe. I was going to be the most successful lawyer ever. I thought it was what I wanted, but when it came down to enrolling in law school, I couldn’t do it. By then, I had heard a lot of stories about unhappy lawyers billing themselves into an early grave. I just couldn’t deal with four years of school followed by 30 more years of overworking myself. Problem was, I never entertained any other options. I hoped moving in with my parents would buy me some time while I came up with another plan.
